Packed milk price raised again

KARACHI: A producer of leading dairy products has made a third hike in prices since December 2013.

Nestle Pakistan has raised one litre milk price to Rs110 from Rs99 on Aug 1, 2014. In January, the product was selling at Rs95 per litre and in March 2014 its price was raised to Rs99.

In December 2013, one litre milk was available at Rs90.

Karachi Retail Grocers Group General Secretary Farid Qureishi said the company did not give any reason for the price hike.

He said that the federal government should check frequent increase in prices of milk when rupee had gained ground against the dollar, making import of raw material and finished goods cheaper in Pakistan.
