Four die of electric shocks

KASUR: Four people died of electric shocks in Kasur and Sialkot on Friday.

Two persons were electrocuted in the Nia Qila area of Kasur.

Allah Wasaya climbed up a pole to repair an electricity wire connected with a transformer. He received shocks when he touched the wire. Ashraf, who was standing nearby, rushed to save Allah Wasaya but he too was injured.

Allah Wasaya died on the spot while Ashraf died while being taken to the Rural Health Centre, Khudian.

SIALKOT: Two people, including an employee of the Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco), died of electric shocks in Daska and Sambrial.

In Sahowala-Sambrial, a Gepco employee was electrocuted while removing a transformer.

In Taaliwali-Satrah, Faryad Ali died of electric shock after he touched a pole.

People protested the death demanding an action against Gepco officials, saying they had informed them about the electric current running in poles.

They demanded a case against Gepco officials for their alleged slackness.
