Water shortage

I LIVE in Defence Housing Authority on Khayaban-i-Muhafiz, Phase -VI for the last 18 years.

Before the water pipeline was laid in the area, we used to get two water bowsers a week. After the water line was laid down about five years ago, we received enough water after every three days for two hours (20 hours per month). In the past year, water was released after four days for two hours (14 hours per month).

However, since April it has been reduced to once a week for two hours (eight hours per month). Now since July, to add to our miseries, water is supplied after 10 days or so and for only an hour (three hours per month). Thus we are getting only 16pc, i.e. one hour instead of six hours of the water which we used to get only five months back. Why water is short and where it is supplied is best known to CBC.

Will the Sindh governor and chief minister take notice?

I RESIDE in DHA Phase VII. My house is on main Khyaban-i-Shahbaz. For the past eight weeks we have been forced to buy water from private tankers as the Cantonment Board Clifton has stopped water supply to our area.

The same is true for other phases — my father lives in DHA Phase-VI — and they too are experiencing the same situation. Complaints to the CBC are going unheeded.
