Four brothers into gold swindle held

SARGODHA: City police on Tuesday arrested a group of swindlers who allegedly deprived 50 goldsmiths of 18 kilo gold.

Reports said four brothers Shahid Riaz, Adeel Riaz, Imran Riaz and Adnan Riaz used to cast gold at Sarafa Bazaar. They collected 18kg gold worth Rs90 million for casting and disappeared. They had reportedly planned to leave Pakistan.

On Tuesday, the suspects visited Sargodha to finally dispose of their immovable property when a citizen Adnan Latif got some information about them and he informed the police.

Police have registered a case against the four brothers and arrested them.

Further investigation is under way.

BODY RECOVERED: The body of 12-year-old Muhammad Husain who went missing a couple of days ago was recovered from fields at Phularwan.

The victim’s family alleged that Muhammad Aslam abducted Husain and killed him.

Phularwan police are investigating.

PENSIONERS WOES: Pensioners of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) have been facing hardships owing to non-payment of dues for the last three months.

They have appealed to the Punjab chief minister to intervene in the matter and direct the authorities concerned to make payment ahead of Eidul Fitr.
