Agriculture expo from Aug 5

LAHORE: Leading Chinese and Pakistani companies related to agriculture and its sub-sectors will take part in the CAC Pakistan Summit and Pak-China Agro Chemical Expo being held at Lahore Expo Centre on Aug 5 and 6.

It will be the first such exhibition and summit in South Asia showcasing the latest technologies and products in farm sector, said Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Engineer Sohail Lashari at a news conference on Monday.

At the half of the 120 stalls booked so far, the Chinese companies would exhibit state-of-the-art technologies and solutions to improve productivity of agro-based commodities and also keep the crops free of hazards.

Around 23 Chinese companies are participating in the exhibition, said Mr Lashari and added it was indeed a matter of pride for the LCCI that the CCPIT Chem, a known Chinese organisation, partnered with it to holding of the exhibition and summit.

The LCCI president said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif would be the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony.

LCCI secretary Javed Saleem Qureshi said the LCCI was the first chamber to focus farm sector. He said the aim of the event was to learn lessons from China in the farm sector to increase per acre yield of major cash crops of Pakistan.
