VEHARI: Attendants are facing immense problems in shifting their seriously ill patients from Mailsi THQ Hospital to Vehari DHQ Hospital, Nishtar Hospital, Multan, and BVH, Bahawalpur, as the two ambulances have been lying out of order since long.

A group of attendants and relatives, including Afzal, Shahid, Zameer, Allah Bakhsh and Akhtar Ali, said they were trying to hire private ambulances to shift their patients to the district hospital which would be an additional burden on their pockets.

THQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Naeem Khalid claimed that only one ambulance was out of order.

A source said the hospital administration was not interested in getting the ambulances repaired, adding the funds for repairing ambulances were misused by the administration.

He said the fuel meant for ambulances was being used to run generators of the hospital.

RAMAZAN BAZAARS: At least 100 shops have been established in four Ramazan bazaars in Mailsi, Burewala and Gaggo Mandi to provide commodities to masses at subsidised rates.

This was stated by TMA Administrator Rafiq Malhi while talking to reporters during his visit to a Ramazan Bazaar here on Monday.

He said the utility store and market committees had also set up their stalls in these Ramazan bazaars.

Mr Malhi said farmers had also established their stalls to provide fresh vegetables at subsidized prices.

He said customers could lodge their complaints against overcharging at complaint cells, adding that price magistrates would also monitor prices at all Ramazan bazaars.
