‘Terrorists’ held in Swat

MINGORA: The security forces arrested suspected terrorists and recovered a big quantity of arms and ammunition from their possession during a joint operation in Mullah Baba area and its adjoining localities in Mingora city.

According to an ISPR press release issued here on Sunday, the security forces promptly acted on information gleaned from the held suspects and arrested outlaws involved in targeted killings. The personnel also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives during the action.

The press release said that the outlaws included a few wanted terrorists, who were planning subversive activities in Swat valley.

The ISPR release, however, didn’t give the specific number and names of those arrested during the joint operation, only saying that the timely, quick and bold action of security forces saved Swat from massive destruction.

Operational Commander, Malakand division, Maj-Gen Javed Mehmood Bukhari, awarded cash prizes and certificates to the participants of the operation. He applauded the efforts of security forces and police in restoration and maintenance of peace in Swat district. He also reiterated that security forces and other law enforcement agencies would jointly maintain peace in the valley.
