Karachi violence claims six lives

KARACHI: At least six people were killed in different incidents of violence in Karachi, DawnNews reported on Wednesday.

One person was killed in a firing incident near Sindh Muslim Law College whereas another sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, a person was shot dead in Gulshan-e-Maymar’s Janjal Goth area.

A 42-year-old was killed in Orangi Town’s Urdu Chowk area whereas a person lost his life in a firing incident near Korangi’s Block Colony. His body could not be identified.

Separately, one person was gunned down in Manghopir. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for investigation.

A tortured body was recovered from a bungalow in Defence’s Khayban-e-Rumi area.

Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism. Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
