Walk marks ‘Education For All’ week

ISLAMABAD: Students of different educational institutions on Tuesday participated in a walk aimed at creating awareness of education.

The walk was organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) at Jinnah Sports Complex.

The students were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans: “Free and compulsory education is the right of every child” and “A country cannot progress without educating women”.

It is pertinent to mention that Article 25-A of the Constitution passed in April 2010 ensures free education for children between five to 16 years of age.

The walk was organised to mark Education for All week which started from May 4 and will continue till May 10.

The participants of the walk were of the view that teachers should cooperate with students and try to help solve their problems.
