Teachers accused of leaking paper get bail

RAWALPINDI: Special Judge of Anti-Corruption Rawalpindi on Tuesday accepted the bail application of five teachers, who were arrested on charges of leaking 5th class English paper.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Special Judge Ghaznfar Ali Khan accepted bail plea of the teachers against surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each.

The teachers will be released on Wednesday from Adiala Jail. In their application, they said they had nothing to do with the paper leaking scam.

Counsel for teachers Sardar Naseer Ahmed Sagheer contended that the FIR had been registered on the basis of inquirers, which are contradicting each others.

“In one inquiry report, the government claimed packet containing question paper was slightly damaged while in the other the government claimed that the packet was torn,” the lawyer pleaded.

On the other hand public prosecutor contended that teachers were guilty.

After hearing arguments, the court decided the matter in favour of the teachers.

Meanwhile, two other teachers got pre-arrest bail, while another one has already been given clean chit as his name was wrongfully included in the FIR. — A Reporter
