National Book Day Festival concludes

ISLAMABAD: The three-day National Book Day Festival, organised by National Book Foundation (NBF), concluded at Pak-China Friendship Centre on Thursday.

Writer Intizar Hussain, while addressing the closing ceremony, said, “Books can mould our minds to the direction of peace, not only in our country but also in the world and this is our ultimate goal. Book reading is a healthy habit, useful for getting knowledge and progressing in each field of life.”

Intizar Hussain said that a book not only influences a person but it also affects his thinking and changes the personality of a reader.

The Managing Director NBF Prof Dr Inam-ul-Haq Javeid said that the festival received an unprecedented response, and that NBF would continue holding similar events every year.

A large number of people, students, teachers, prominent writers and artists attended the concluding ceremony.

More than one hundred stalls of publishers, printers and booksellers were setup during the festival.
