KCCA elections now on May 2

KARACHI: Long-awaited elections of the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) will now be held here at the National Stadium on May 2 at 9:30am, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday.

The KCCA elections were twice postponed due to different reasons and last time due to the change of election commissioner Mohammad Siddique.

The PCB announced the new date for the KCCA elections after the appointment of new election commissioner Ahmed Shehzad Farooq, who will supervise the elections.

In the meantime, the PCB also notified the elections of KCCA Zone-V to complete the process.

Now 27 elected office-bearers of seven KCCA zones will cast their votes for the posts of president, secretary and treasurer.

Elected office-bearers including presidents, secretaries and treasurers of the seven zones will be eligible to take part in the elections.

The Nadeem Omar Group includes Nadeem Omar (president), Mohammad Ishaq (secretary) and Shah Shafiuddin (treasurer) while Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi (president), Shafiq Kazmi (secretary) and Musheer Rabbani (treasurer) are candidates for Prof. Faruqi group.
