GHALANAI: The political authorities have destroyed poppy crop cultivated over 1,480 kanals of land in different parts of Mohmand Agency.

Political Agent Khushal Khan told Dawn on Saturday that the administration was supervising the poppy eradication campaign, which was in full swing across Mohmand Agency.

He said that the campaign would continue till the region was cleared of the banned crop.

Haleemzai political tehsildar Shamsul Islam said that poppy grown on 300 kanals in Kamali Haleemzai was destroyed.

Similarly, 400 kanals in Pandiali tehsil, 300 kanals in Ambar, 180 kanals in Baizai and 300 kanals in Parn Ghar tehsil were cleared of poppy crop.
