‘Plagiarism’ cost academic his job

LAHORE: The Punjab University administration has issued orders of compulsory retirement of Institute of Chemistry’s Prof Dr Zaid Mahmood on the allegation of plagiarism.

The decision was taken by the university Syndicate at its March 29 meeting and an order was issued on April 15.

Institute of Chemistry’s Director Prof Dr Makshoof Athar had filed a complaint against Dr Zaid Mahmood, alleging that he had plagiarised material from the foreign research papers.
