MPA’s guards beat warden

FAISALABAD: A traffic warden was allegedly beaten up by the guards of a PML-N MPA Malik Nawaz on Monday.

Reports said warden Rashid Javed regulating traffic outside Rail Bazaar near Gumti had spotted a vehicle that was parked wrongly and hindering traffic flow.

The warden asked the driver, who introduced himself as brother of Malik Nawaz, to move the vehicle that led to an exchange of words. Hearing words, the guards started to thrash the warden and also tore his uniform.

Some passersby helped the warden and the suspects managed to move away.

A police officer requesting anonymity said the chief minister had taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the Faisalabad regional police officer.

MPA Malik Nawaz said the warden had slapped his driver’s face and “it is wrong that my guards had started to thrash the warden on parking issue”.
