Four killed in Chitral accident

CHITRAL: Four persons were killed and two received injuries when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine near Rayeen village of upper Chitral here on Saturday afternoon.

An official of Shagram police station said that the dead were identified as Mumtaz Ahmed, Ali Shah, Nowroze and the driver of the vehicle, Ubaidullah alias Zhanoyar.

He said that all the dead belonged to Rayeen village. They were coming back from Melp area after attending a funeral ceremony there, he added.

Sources said that reason of the accident was technical fault in the vehicle. They said that owing to the technical fault the driver lost control over the wheel while descending the steep road.
