Cop escorting polio team shot dead

QUETTA: A police constable escorting a polio team was shot dead in Loralai on Thursday, police sources said.

Vaccinators were administering anti-polio drops to children at Nasarabad village in Loralai and constable Mohammad Zai was with them on security duty when assailants opened fire, the sources said.

“The constable received multiple bullet wounds causing his instant death,” they said. After the incident, local policemen announced they would not escort polio teams in protest.
