Pak-China trade conference begins

LAHORE: The inaugural session of the Pakistan-China Trade and Investment Conference organised by the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) was held on Tuesday.

Members of the Yantai Federation of Commerce and Industry, Shandong, China expressed interested in exploring the Pakistani market for business matchmaking and joint ventures, especially in trade, building materials, home appliances, lighting, machine and equipment besides project contracting.

The CEOs of 24 companies from Yantai also saw vast scope of joint ventures between Pakistan and China in agriculture, textiles, pharmaceutical, automobiles, leather, transport and construction.

Yantai Chamber vice-chairman Tan Tan Chence expressed hope that more enterprises from his country would come to Pakistan in future to expand bilateral business relations as a result of better communication between the two countries.

“It rained when we arrived and to us rains symbolises prosperity and growth. For Chinese, it means that both nations will grow and develop together in future,” said Tan Tan Chence who is leading the delegation.

Association of Chinese Enterprises’ Lahore branch president Wang Zi Hai said that keeping in view the augmenting collaboration of Pakistan and China in Lahore, a zonal office of the Yantai Chamber of Commerce and Industry would be formally opened here on Wednesday. —Staff Reporter
