BISE chief orders issuance of roll number slips to 300 students

RAWALPINDI: Taking notice of complaints of students and parents, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi chairman on Friday directed officers concerned to issue roll number slips to more than 300 private candidates.

The BISE Rawalpindi refused to issue slips to students who were either under 13 years old or had applied under the re-admission category to appear in Secondary School Certificate (SCC) Part I exam.

They had been directed to submit late fee for registration despite the fact that they had already registered themselves with the board when they appeared in the exam the first time.

A BISE spokesman said the board’s chairman, Dr Mohammad Zareef, taking notice of media reports, ordered the officers concerned to issue the roll number slips to all candidates, conditionally. The board has decided to take up both issues — 13 years old age and re-registration — with the board of governors (BoG).

“The chairman has directed that the roll number slips be issued to all students conditionally, while the issue will be taken up in the BoG meeting to be held on Saturday,” the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the chairman constituted an inquiry committee to probe the issue. It comprises Vice Principal Asghar Mall College Professor Altaf Hussain and the board secretary.
