Hill torrents hit Mianwali villages

MIANWALI: Two days of rain on mountains activated hill torrents which caused damage to farmland and rural dwellings in different part of the district.

A hill torrent, called Chichali, in Isakhel tehsil inundated Manda Khel, Burzi, Shukeelwala, Samokhelanwala villages on Monday. It also caused suspension of traffic on Mianwali-Bannu Road for several hours.

On Tuesday, water from Adwala Nullah entered Paki Shah Mardan of Mauza Daudkel area and damaged many houses. People were forced to move to higher grounds along with their belongings.Rescue teams reached affected areas to evacuate stranded people.
