PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday announced Rs100 million relief package for the drought-hit Tharparkar district of Sindh.

According to a statement issued here, the chief minister expressed sympathy with the people and the government of Sindh at the occurrence of the natural calamity.

The relief package includes rice, wheat flour, pulses, sugar, tea leaves, cooking oil, dates, salt, mineral water and medicines for children.

In the statement Mr Khattak said that all these items would be purchased from the local market in Mirpurkhas district and supplied to the affected areas. An efficient team led by director general of PDMA would accompany the relief items to ensure that the same reached the deserving people.

The chief minister directed secretary relief to ensure speedy distribution of aid to the affected people. — Bureau Report
