Call to allow intercity buses into Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Transporters of Baldia bus terminal have appealed to the DIG concerned to allow intercity buses into Hyderabad as the district police were stopping them at the city’s entry points.

Addressing a press conference held here on Tuesday, Sindh Transport Ittehad (STI) chairman Zaib Khan Buriro, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) sub-committee for transport chairman Aslam Khan Deswali and transport operator Mohammad Jameel Raja said that drivers were forced to drop passengers at the entry points of Hyderabad.

They said the Baldia Bus terminal had been dismantled and forcibly shifted to Hatri bypass late on Saturday night and now police had been deployed at the two entry points of the city to stop entry of public transport vehicles.

They expressed concerns over the situation and warned that both drivers and passengers were angry at police and the district administration.
