Education conference

KARACHI: More than a dozen political parties are expected to pledge across-the-board commitment to improve the education sector in Sindh on Thursday.

The leaders will be part of an event being organised by Alif Ailaan, which claims to have been working to put education at the forefront of public discourse on Pakistan, with particular reference to Sindh.

The leaders who are likely to attend the programme include PPP stalwart and provincial education minister Nisar Khuhro, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Faisal Sabzwari, Imtiaz Sheikh of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Dr Arif Alvi of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, PML-Nawaz lawmaker Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Ayaz Palijo of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek, Jamaat-i-Islami’s Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Awami National Party Senator Shahi Syed, Qadir Magsi of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz Sanan Khan Qureshi, Sindh United Party’s Syed Zain Shah, the Awami Jamhoori Party’s Abrar Kazi and Sindh Education Secretary Dr Fazlullah Pechuho.—APP
