Woman faces acid attack

LAHORE: A young woman suffered burns after two people threw acid on her on her doorstep in PCSIR Housing Society near College Road in Township on Tuesday.

Sadar SP (Operations) Malik Awais said 23-year-old Huma Shahid was returning home from her workplace at the time of the incident.

He said two motorcyclists chased the woman, who got off a rickshaw, up to her home and sprinkled acid on her before escaping.

The victim with face and arms burns was rushed to Jinnah Hospital where her condition was said to be stable.

The SP said the woman was an applied psychology lecturer at the University of Management and Technology, Johar Town.

He said Sattukatla police registered a case against unknown suspects on the complaint of the victim and started investigation.
