JuD chief calls for talks with Taliban

HYDERABAD: Describing Taliban attacks as wrong and forbidden in Islam, Jamaatud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed demanded a ceasefire before the government starts dialogue and said delay in the process was raising doubts.

He also censured dec-laring anyone as being ‘kafir’.

Addressing a gathering at Markaz Umar bin Khatab in New Saeedabad, he said denial by the PM House about Maulana Samiul Haq’s talk initiative had created confusion.

He claimed that Taliban are ready for talks and said he was prepared to mediate for restoration of peace.

The US and its allies are hatching sectarian and ethnic conspiracies and the war on terrorism is targeted against Islam because Pakistan is the only Muslim country having atomic power, he said.

He accused media of following American agenda.
