College professor injured in Rawalpindi firing

RAWALPINDI: A college professor was critically injured on Wednesday when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on him in the Sadiqabad area of the garrison city of Rawalpindi, DawnNews reported.

Professor Nazir Hussain Imrani of Government Hashmat Ali College was taken to the Benazir Shaheed Hospital.

Police sources said the professor was shot eight times by assailants.

Following the incident, college students staged a protest on the streets and blocked roads for traffic.

Further details of the attack were not available till the filing of this report.
