ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong has dismissed as baseless reservations expressed by some countries on Beijing’s nuclear cooperation with Islamabad and said it was within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Talking to journalists on Friday, he said the objective of the Chinese cooperation with Pakistan in the nuclear field was to address Pakistan’s energy crisis. He said this cooperation would help boost Pakistan’s economy.

Referring to Pakistan-China economic corridor, he said both countries were committed to benefiting from it in five to seven years.—PPI
