Policemen briefed about latest investigation techniques
ISLAMABAD, Nov 9: Effective policing is only possible if the police resolve complaints of the public on a priority basis. The police can bridge the gap by resolving the public’s matters through transparent and impartial investigations.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Sikandar Hayat while addressing investigation officers (IOs) of various police stations at the Central Police Office (CPO).
The participants were also lectured by senior police officials of the International Police Association (IPA) about the latest investigation techniques. AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri and Member IPA SSP Mohammad Ishfaq Khan were also present on the occasion.
IGP Hayat directed for professional training and capacity building of all police employees, stating that the lecture was a part of the programme. He also asked questions from participants and informed them of the legal aspects of various cases.

IGP Hayat said police should adopt a professional attitude and regularly inform complainants of developments in their (public’s) cases in order to attain their confidence. He said the main objective of the police was to serve people and to cooperate with the public.
The IGP hoped that such lectures from senior officials of IPA would be beneficial and investigation process would improve.
