Jirga settles karo-kari dispute

SUKKUR, Nov 2: A jirga was held on Saturday in Dahu village near Tangwani town to decide a karo-kari dispute between people belonging to the Bhutto and Bakhrani communities.

Sources said that the jirga was chaired by Muhammad Ali Bakhrani and its proceedings were attended by a large number of people belonging to the two communities.

After hearing statements of both groups, a quack, Asadullah Bhutto, was declared karo. The jirga in its verdict imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on him and also restricted his entry into Tangwani town for three months.

He paid Rs100,000 of the fine to Meer Ahmed Bakhrani and the remaining amount would be paid to Meer Bakhrani in three instalments within three months.—Our Correspondent
