ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has convened a meeting of senior members of Peoples Party in Lahore on Oct 30 to discuss the political situation and internal matters of the party.

Mr Zardari, who is in Dubai nowadays, is likely to return to the country in a day or two.

Senator Farhatullah Babar, spokesman for Mr Zardari, confirmed that the former president had convened a meeting of PP leaders in Lahore on Wednesday. He, however, was unable to say whether Mr Zardari would land in Karachi, Islamabad or Lahore.

He said that during his stay in Lahore Mr Zardari was expected to hold a series of meetings with various chapters and office-bearers of Peoples Party.
