Traffic police FM radio starting transmission today

KARACHI, July 31: The Sindh police FM radio service will be launched on Aug 1 and it can be listened to at FM88.6 frequency across the city.

The channel will provide information on alternative routes in case of traffic jams. This was stated in a report presented by DIG of traffic police of Karachi Abdul Khaliq Sheikh to Inspector General of Sindh Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch.

He said in the report that the test transmission of the police FM radio service had already started from its office established at the Central Police Office. The radio service would also inform people about traffic laws and raise their awareness about them.

The test transmission was being carried out from 7am to 6pm. However, it would be formally launched on Aug 1 in two shifts. The first shift would run from 7am to 3pm and the second one from 3pm to 11pm, said the DIG of Karachi traffic police.—PPI
