Robbers bag Rs2.7m in four hits

LAHORE, May 7: Robbers plundered cash and valuables worth Rs2.7 million in four major strikes in the city on Tuesday.

Four robbers barged into Samad Fazil’s house in Sabzazar police limits, held up the family and took away cash and valuables worth Rs1.2 million. Armed men entered the office of Afzal in Factory Area police limits and looted Rs1 million and cell phones.

Three robbers, riding a car, stopped the vehicle of Umer Jibran Engineering Company in Manga Mandi police limits and snatched Rs400,000 from the employees who were heading office after drawing cash from a bank.

Two robbers approached Muhammad Akram in Haider Park in Shadbagh police limits and deprived him of Rs100,000.

Thieves took away the car of Khalid Khursheed from Alamgir Road in Islampura police limits.

FIRE: A fire broke out in a room at Hasnatul Bint Girls Madressa near Wassanpura Chowk on Tuesday, burning down valuables worth hundreds of thousands. Rescue 1122 Fire Service brought the blaze under control.
