PTI Swat leaders join ‘N’

MINGORA, April 22: The electoral landscape in Swat is fast changing as key leaders of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf on Monday switched loyalties and joined PML-N, expressing confidence in the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Amir Muqam.

They announced the decision at a hurriedly called press conference at Sher Palam, Matta tehsil.

Those who joined the PML-N included former provincial minister and MNA Shujaat Ali Khan, ex-provincial minister Fateh Mohammad Khan, former district nazim Jamal Nasir Khan, PTI provincial deputy general secretary Azmat Ali Khan, former union council nazim Sharifullah Khan, their family members, friends and supporters.

They expressed full confidence in the leadership of Amir Muqam, adding he was the only leader to serve masses with sincerity. They said Mr Muqam was well aware of the problems of the people of Swat and wanted to solve them on priority basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Muqam said MMA got votes in the name of Islam and turned Swat into a dumping place for explosives, while ANP and PPP left the people of Swat at the mercy of terrorists.
