Spectrum auction of new-gen telecom licences within coming months: Anusha Rehman

Anusha Rehman, Pakistan's newly appointed Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication has disclosed that the new government, formed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is committed to swiftly undertake a spectrum auction of new-generation telecom licenses,(3G/4G/LTE), within the coming few months.

Pakistan is considered to be lagging behind in terms of IT and telecommunication infrastructure, and many believe that bringing 3G, 4G and LTE technology to Pakistan may just be the catalyst needed to enable prosperity in the sector

A few days ago, Mrs Rahman had managed to grab media attention by saying that Google could face a blanket ban in the country if it refuses to adhere to the Pakistani government’s request of removing blasphemous videos from YouTube.

Anusha Rehman is an advocate and a newly-elected member of the National Assembly, She is also a part of the PML-N's Central Working Committee.
