Ex-DSP’s son held for fraud

ISLAMABAD, June 3: A son of retired DSP and his three accomplices were arrested for their alleged involvement in fraud.

They in the guise of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials made a deal with an accused for his release, police said on Monday.

The police said that the NAB officials had handed over the accused, including the son of the late DSP to Industrial Area police.

The police said the fraudsters approached the family of a NAB accused offering them to get the case against him quashed if they greased their palm.

The Industrial Area police when contacted said the accused was a director of an industry, located in Gujranwala.

Later they approached the NAB official and asked them to release the accused and offered them money.

However, the NAB official arrested them and later handed them over to police for the legal action which led to the registration of the case under PPC 420.

The police further stated that AH was arrested in connection with Rs10billion corruption case and Rs5billion was recovered from him.
