Ambassadors meet Nawaz

LAHORE, May 31: Ambassadors of France and Germany called on incoming prime minister Nawaz Sharif at his Raiwind residence here on Friday.

The ambassadors conveyed felicitations and good wishes of their leaders – President Hollande of France and Chancellor Angela Markel of Germany -- on the victory of the PML-N in the elections.

They lauded the role of Nawaz Sharif in strengthening the democratic institutions in Pakistan.

They said free and fair elections had enhanced Pakistan’s image and credibility in the world.The ambassadors said their countries would seek to strengthen their relations with Pakistan, which they viewed as an important country not only in the political sphere but also in economic and commercial ties. Mr Nawaz Sharif was assisted by Mr Tariq Fatemi.
