PESHAWAR: First-aid Training course concludes

PESHAWAR, May 2: The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Gandhara University, Prof Pervaiz Sani, has advised college students to adopt basic first-aid methods prescribed by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society while treating emergency cases.

He was speaking on the conclusion of a two-day basic first-aid training course held at the Kabir Medical College in collaboration with the NWFP branch of the society on Friday.

Prizes and merit certificates were distributed among 28 students who have undergone comprehensive training.

Prof Sani extold the efforts of the Society to train target groups of youth for voluntary work so that the society was able to attain their objective of providing “one first-aider in every home”.

The course was conducted by resource persons Dr Nighat, Dr Sadaf and Dr Mubarik Jan of the Society, who also introduced the subject of first-aid, treating wounds and bleeding, dealing with burns and respiratory emergencies.—APP
