LAHORE, March 15: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says that politicians should agree to the names of caretaker set-up with sincerity and any failure on this issue will be unfortunate.

He was talking to the media after opening Punjab Bank’s Islamic banking branch here on Friday.

He said the opposition had proposed names of honest people for the caretaker government and there was a consensus from Karachi to Peshawar on the name of Justice (retired)Nasir Aslam Zahid.

Similarly, he said, Rasool Bukhsh Palejo was also a hard working and honest person.

Shahbaz said Justice (retired) Amir Raza’s name was suggested as caretaker Punjab chief minister. He said the former judge as well as the second nominee, Khwaja Zaheer, were able and honest persons.

“If the federal government proposes good and honest people, we will accept them. However, the PML-N will take a final decision after consultation.”

He said the PPP released its manifesto in the darkness of night, but the people could not be hoodwinked as the party could not provide ‘roti, kapra aur makan’ during its five-year rule.
