ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday said that his party’s intra-party elections will uproot the prevailing unfair political culture and introduce a real democracy in the country.

He expressed these views in a statement issued on the evening of the first-ever PTI intra-party elections which will start on Sunday the in the federal capital.

History is in making as the party workers will cast their votes tomorrow, said Khan. This would be the first step towards foundation of real democracy in the country, he added.

The PTI chief felicitated the whole nation especially the party members on the eve of first-ever intra-party elections. He said the PTI polls will provide the country a new and thriving political tradition that was overlooked by the leadership of so-called major political parties.

‘Bogus leaders’ defy and ditch their promises made with the people but the PTI believes in principles, said Khan.

According to the PTI election cell, electronic voting will begin from midnight on November 17, and 63,000 party members will participate in the elections from 40 union councils in the federal capital.

The elections will be held for nine general seats and four women seats, and only those voters will be accepted who will vote through a mobile phone SIM registered to their National Identity Cards (NIC).
