LAHORE, Sept 17: Robbers injured a jeweller on resistance and looted cash, jewellery and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in four hits in the city on Monday.

Two robbers approached Nasir Mehmood and his family at their doorstep in Fazal Park in Shadbagh police limits and snatched gold ornaments worth Rs250,000. On offering resistance, one of the robbers fired at Mehmood and fractured his jaw as the bullet pierced through his mouth. Both robbers managed to escape with the booty. The injured was admitted to Mayo Hospital.

Four robbers targeted two motorists outside an ATM cabin of Bank Alfalah near Akbar Chowk in Township police limits and deprived them of cash, cell phones and gold ornaments.One of the victims, Adeel, told Dawn that he and his cousin got cash from the ATM and were about to leave when four robbers riding two bikes came there and two of them held them at gunpoint.

He said two others held hostage another family who were also about to leave on their car after getting cash from the ATM and snatched cash and valuables from them.

Adeel said robbers looted two cell phones and cash in thousands from them and threw keys of their car at a maximum distance before fleeing.
