KATMANDU: A bus in Nepal veered off a highway and into a river, killing at least 11 people and injuring 25 more, police said.

Police official Chandra Kafle said the driver lost control of the bus while on the way to Katmandu on Tuesday morning.

The bus fell 50 metres into the Trishuli River.

The accident occurred about 80 kilometres west of Katmandu on the Prithvi highway, the main route connecting the Nepalese capital with the rest of the country.
