PO arrested

ATTOCK, May 4: The district police arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) wanted in various heinous crimes including murder and attempted murder from Pindigheb on Thursday evening.

The PO, Riffat Abbas Khan, had been at large since 2003 and government had fixed head money for his arrest.

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Hilal Khan told the newsmen that the police had recently launched a campaign to arrest POs and other hardened criminals who had made their hideouts in the mountainous terrain of Kalachitta.

For the purpose, a  CIA team was constituted to apprehend the most wanted  20 POs and check their movement as they were causing law and order situation in the area, he said. —Correspondent
