Cinnabon’s Sweet Treat

Published January 18, 2012

The seating area filled up with eager guests outside the newly opened dessert shop, Cinnabon, at the new Dolmen Mall at seaview on 14 January in Karachi.

Rounds of complimentary CinnaRolls, CinnaBites, MochaLatta Chills and Strawberry Chillatas were being served to guests – including celebrities, socialites and lots of enthusiastic children.

Ayesha Omar was the official emcee for the event in the newly opened and scarcely populated mall, which was full of Cinna fans on this day. Omar also revealed the dancing Mr. Bon, the mascot for the franchise.

Cinnabon uses the company’s signature "Makara Cinnamon" which is used all over the world. Yasser Khwaja, the Chief Operating Officer of Cinnabon Karachi revealed, “The menu, taste and quality of the Cinnabon Karachi is exactly similar to any of the franchises abroad”.

The items on the menu fall between Rs. 150 to 350 approximately.

Verdict: Cinnabon can be eaten any time, as an evening dessert or during the movie time once the new Atrium Cinema opens up here. They taste good, but consumption should be moderated as they contain lots of sugar and calories.

Cinnabon debuted in Pakistan in 2010, with its first two sightings in the foodie city of Lahore. It will open by the end of next month at Atirum Mall, Saddar and will be available in Islamabad sometime this year. - text by Moiz Kazmi, photos by Irfan Kazmi
