LAHORE/KASUR, July 15: Two businessmen missing for the last two days from the Sattokatla area were found murdered near Bhala village in Ganda Singhwala, Kasur, on Friday.

Sadar Superintendent of Police (investigation) Hassan Sukhaira told Dawn that Tariq Zaman, of Johar Town, and his business partner Muhammad Akhtar, of Gujranwala, had been missing since July 13.

He said the family of Tariq lodged an FIR with the Sattokatla police on the same day that Akhtar came to their house and took Tariq along with him on his car for some business work.

The SP said Kasur police on Friday alerted Lahore police about the slain bodies which turned out to be that of Akhtar and Tariq.

Sukhaira said according to the victims’ families, their cell phones remained switched on and their last location was Kasur.

He said a police team had been dispatched to Kasur for bringing the bodies back, adding that police had launched investigation to establish the motive for brutal killings.

He said as Tariq and Akhtar, who were found with their throats slit open, were partners in property and scrap business, and it is believed that their murder could be the result of business disputes.
