LAHORE, May 10: An inspector and a sub-inspector were dismissed from service while four others, including two SIs, were awarded other departmental punishments after the charges levelled against them were proved in inquiry.

According to a handout, Deputy Inspector General Operations Rao Sardar Ali Khan issued the orders while listening to show-cause notices served on the officials during the Orderly Room on Tuesday.

Former Kahna station house officer Inspector Ghulam Dastigeer was sacked and his five-year service forfeited for failing to control crime. SI Karamat Ali of Iqbal Town police was dismissed from service for receiving gratification from prostitution dens and misusing authority.

SI Azhar Ashfaq was deprived of two annual increments and also censured for showing poor performance and dereliction of duty, while SI Azra Parveen was censured for poor performance. Constable driver Muhammad Kamran and constable Aamir Hayat were also censured for showing rough attitude while dealing with citizens. — Staff Reporter
