PESHAWAR: Unknown assailants blew up two primary schools for girls in the Khyber tribal region’s Landi Kotal tehsil on Friday.

Reports said militants had planted explosives and later detonated them destroying the schools.

No loss of life was reported in the incidents.

With the destruction of the two schools, the total number of schools blown up in the tribal region has climbed to 41. Majority of the schools targeted by militants are schools for girls.
