SHIKARPUR, Sept 17: Police have succeeded in controlling deadly clashes between the Junejo and Kehar tribes in Garhi Yasin taluka by taking preventive measures in the troubled areas.

This was stated by DPO Shikarpur, K.K. Memon, while talking to newsmen here on Thursday. He said that taking advantage of tribal disputes in the Shikarpur district, criminal elements had were indulging in anti-social activities and creating a law and order problem.

The DPO said these elements also joined tribal disputes between the Junejo and Kehar tribesmen. However, he claimed, that police had brought the situation under control and restored peace in the troubled areas by setting up pickets and keeping a vigil on the activities of the Junejo and Kehar tribesmen.

It may be recalled that about two months ago, a dispute erupted on a minor issue between the two groups which led to the death of five persons.
