GUJRAT, May 3: Some court employees are allegedly minting money by selling text of a judgment in which nine convicts, including Gujrat tehsil Nazim, were handed down death sentence, Dawn learnt.

They were taking Rs500 to Rs1,000 for one copy of the judgment which comprised at least 93 pages, sources said.

They said some prominent personalities, including politicians belonging to different parties, were the main customers.

Owners of three photostat shops situated nearby the court told this correspondent that they had prepared about 30 sets of the judgment for court employees.

Meanwhile, sources gave out that higher authorities of the sessions court were not aware of this illegal practice.

MURDER CASE: A-Division police on Friday registered a case against three brothers on the charge of killing a woman lawyer and injuring her husband.

The complainant alleged Rizwan Dar had borrowed Rs177,000 from his brother-in-law sometime ago. As their car reached outside Dr Irfan’s clinic, Dr Irfan Dar, Rizwan Dar and Ali Dar opened fire on his sister Kokab Gul and her husband Mehboob Elahi. Kokab died instantly while her husband sustained critical wounds, the FIR concluded.
