TAXILA: Funds will be released soon for the establishment of a trauma centre at the tehsil headquarters hospital Hazro besides provision of all missing facilities to provide better health facilities to the masses at their doorsteps.

This was stated by chairman of Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, Crime Surveillance Unit, Inspection Team and Special Monitoring Unit retired Brig Babar Alauddin during his snap visit to the hospital on Thursday.

Member district monitoring committee and former provincial Minister Jahangir Khanzada, Chief executive District Health Authority Dr Asad Ismail and other officials were also present on this occasion.

Mr Alauddin said more than 2000 health facilities in the province were being revamped and availability of staff and medicines being ensured. He said that the CM Punjab had specially allocated Rs72 billion for the scholarships of students studying at higher education level.

Responding to a question, he said that in 19 districts the safe city project will be completed by the end of this month while by the end of June next year the project in the remaining districts will be completed. Later, this project will be extended to the tehsil level.

Earlier, MrAlauddinreviewed the performance of government departments at the deputy commissioner office. Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, District Police Officer Dr Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Waqas Aslam Marth, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anil Saeed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Nosheen Israr, all six assistant commissioners, Sub-Divisional Police Officers and heads of all government departments were also present.

He directed all government departments to establish help desks for prompt red hassle free addressing of public grievances. He said strict monitoring of government departments would continue and action would be initiated against individuals found involved in corruption.

He said bringing transparency in development projects by changing the official culture is the priority, claiming good governance in Punjab was an example for other provinces. He said the model of good governance should be introduced through ideal coordination of political and administrative leadership. The infrastructure, health, education sectors are being improved on priority basis, he maintained.

The deputy commissioner briefed him on the progress of ongoing development projects at the all six tehsils besides the initiatives of the Punjab government. He said stabilising prices of essential commodities is a top priority of the government, adding that the district administration had implemented the vision of the Chief Minister and a grand cleaning operation had been started across the district through the Suthra Punjab campaign.
