ISLAMABAD: Hours after Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan presented the May 22 PIA plane crash report in the National Assembly, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari called for his resignation and an independent inquiry into the incident.

Through his official social media account on Twitter, the PPP chairman recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan used to say that if there was a train crash, the railways minister should be sacked.

“Now he blames pilots and air traffic controller for the PIA crash. Victim blaming and scapegoating must end. We demand independent inquiry. (The) minister must go,” tweeted Mr Bhutto-Zardari, whose party had rejected the inquiry commission soon after its formation by the government.
